Gladstone Hospital Petition

Representing Flynn in the Federal Parliament

The electorate of Flynn is over 132,000 square kilometres and is almost twice the size of Tasmania.

It stretches from the Central Highlands to the West, Gracemere to the North, Gladstone to the East and Wondai to the South while taking in the towns in between.

I drive over 50,000 kilometres a year staying in touch with our local communities and spend around 20 weeks in Canberra representing you in Parliament.

My electorate offices are open in the following locations to service the large Flynn electorate:

  • 76 Goondoon Street, Gladstone QLD 4680
  • 2/115 Egerton Street, Emerald QLD 4720
  • 39 Capper Street, Gayndah QLD 4625

I’m committed to taking Flynn forward.

It's time both the State and Federal Governments work with local councils and get the Beef Corridors upgrade underway as soon as possible.

Beef2024 is all about celebrating our critical beef industry and it's time both State and Federal Labor Governments put their money where their mouth is and bring funding for the Beef Corridors forward rather than add more delays.

I also encourage Prime Minister Albanese and Premier Miles to jump into a truck and see firsthand the state of the Beef Corridors while they are here in Central Queensland. Maybe then they will realise just how critical these road upgrades are.

Lovely to visit Leichardt Villa in Taroom.

I enjoyed catching up with residents including Mrs Doreen Allen, Taroom’s last surviving WWII veteran. Doreen along with another resident will be celebrating their 100th this year.

Thank you for having me!

Today I joined my National Party Colleagues at #Beef2024 and called on Labor to axe their fresh food tax.

Labor’s fresh food tax is another example of the Labor Government biting the hand that feeds it.

The new tax on farmers will affect so many of the industries here at Beef2024 and will inevitably be passed onto consumers, which means even higher grocery bills for those in Flynn.

It is unfathomable the Labor government would ask farmers to pay for the biosecurity risks of international importers from other countries. As the Federal Member for Flynn, I am determined to stop this new tax on our farmers and our food.
