Water Security in Callide

Having met with SunWater in Brisbane during the 11-13 May Parliament sitting, I am gravely concerned about the removal of the gates on the Callide Dam for inspection.

The water capacity in Callide Dam will be more than halved, should these gates not be reinstated. With the Paradise Dam being lowered, and the Rookwood Weir reductions, I am astounded at the Government’s short term thinking on Queensland’s water security issues.

We need MORE infrastructure and water storage facilities – not LESS!

Our farmers and irrigators are the ones feeding Queensland and Australia – without water there is no food.

My recent Media Release is here for further information on this critical issue.
